You’re never too young to have a stroke. I know because I had one when I was 24 years old. In the immediate aftermath of my stroke, I found myself constantly scouring medical websites, social media posts, and chat forums, only to find the same repetitive messages that did not apply to me.
I created this website because having a stroke when you’re young can be an incredibly isolating experience. So much of the information for stroke survivors, even “young” stroke survivors, seems written for someone decades older, while the questions that come with having one in your twenties can feel entirely different.
Here, you will find information and resources about young stroke, answers to questions I had during my own recovery, and honest conversations about everything that comes after your stroke – from navigating disability, to mental health and relationships, to identity, and finally rebuilding the life you want to live after your stroke.
